Finally! I have wanted to see the manatees since the day we moved here. We have seen them at SeaWorld but not in the wild. Leisa, Paige and I Packed a picnic and went to see the manatees at Blue Springs State Park.
This was a mom and baby under a dock along the banks of the springs.
We decided to rent a canoe to see the manatees close up, away from all the people. We could see them swim slowly around the springs and then they started to gravitate towards the canoe as if they were checking us out as well. They got really close, a little too close for me. I was a little worried about the stability of the canoe. Eek!
Great day, great weather and great company. Oh and the food was amazing.
